Spiced Apple Cider & Whiskey

Warm up this Rosh Hashanah with a hot, Spiced Apple Cider with Whiskey. This beverage is delicious with or without alcohol, making it the perfect family-friendly cocktail or mocktail to celebrate the New Year! Try it over ice for a surprisingly delicious twist!

Ingredients

  • 5 cups apple cider

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 1 slice ginger, fresh

  • Pinch cloves

  • Pinch nutmeg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ½ cup whiskey (optional)

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • 1 apple, thinly sliced

  • 4 cinnamon sticks, to serve

Preparation

  1. Combine apple cider cinnamon stick, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg in a pot over medium heat. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Remove from heat and add vanilla, whiskey (if using), and lemon juice.

  3. Divide between 4 mugs.

  4. Serve with apple slices and cinnamon sticks.
