Eat in the Sukkah - stuffing the seven species
Sukkot is one of the three Jewish pilgrimage festivals (Regalim). In Biblical times, farmers would travel to Jerusalem and bring the first fruits of their fall harvest as offerings to the Temple. In those time, it is believed the land of Israel was filled with ‘The Seven Species: “A land of wheat, and barley, and vines, and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey (Deut. 8:8).”
Some celebrate the abundance and blessings of the fall harvest by preparing and eating special “stuffed” foods. We thought it would be fun to stuff the ‘The Seven Species’ of the land of Israel. Here you go!
