May We All Be Blessed with Longevity
但愿人长久
Dàn yuàn rén chángjiU
Song: Teresa Teng
Translation: Han Keat Lim 林汉杰
When will the moon be clear and bright?
With a cup of wine in my hand, I ask the blue sky.
In the heavens on this night,
I wonder what season it would be?
I'd like to ride the wind to fly home.
Yet I fear the crystal and jade mansions
are much too high and cold for me.
Dancing with my moonlit shadow,
It does not seem like the human world.
The moon rounds the red mansion, stoops to silk-pad doors, shines upon the sleepless,
Bearing no grudge, why does the moon tend to be full when people are apart?
People may have sorrow or joy, be near or far apart,
The moon may be dim or bright, wax or wane,
This imperfection has been going on since the beginning of time.
May we all be blessed with longevity,
Though thousand miles apart we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together.
May we all be blessed with longevity,
Though thousand miles apart we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together

Solitary, I Ascend the Western Tower
独上西楼
Dú shàng yī lóu
Song: Teresa Teng
Translation: Han Keat Lim 林汉杰
Silently, solitary I ascend the western tower,
The moon appears like a hook,
The lone parasol tree locks the clear autumn in the deep courtyard.
What cannot be cut,
Nor raveled,
Is the sorrow of separation:
Nothing tastes like that to the heart.
无言独上西楼,
月如钩,
寂寞梧桐深院锁清秋。
剪不断,
理还乱,
是离愁,
别是一般滋味在心头。
wú yán dú shàng xī lóu,
yuè rú gōu,
jìmò wútóng shēn yuàn suǒ qīngqiū.
Jiǎn bùduàn,
lǐ hái luàn,
shì líchóu,
bié shì yībān zīwèi zài xīntóu.
