Light a menorah
In Hanukkah we light a menorah for eight nights.
In your box, we’ve included a menorah, candles and blessings. All you need is a lighter and some company.

Instructions
In your box:
A Menorah (assembled to your preferred shape)
Color coded Hanukkah Candles
Blessings text & transliteration - included in chapter 1 of your guide
You also need:
Matches/A lighter
Step 1 - Prep
Place the menorah on a safe surface. Place a candle in each candle holder*, except for the Shamash according to the night (see below:)
*melt some wax into the holder to safely secure the candle.
Step 2 - First night
Place the blue candle
Light the Shamash candle and say all three blessings
Light the first blue candle using the Shamash
Add the Shamash to the menorah
Step 3 - 2nd to Eighth night
Every night you add a new candle to the party.
Place candles
Light the Shamash candle and say only two blessings
Light the candles left to right, using the Shamash
Add the Shamash to the menorah

What is the Shamash?
The shamash is a special candle used to light the rest of the candles. it also usually sits at a higher reserved spot
Why do we light a Menorah?
We light a menorah for 8 nights to celebrate the miracle of the oil that lasted for 8 days and 8 nights!

We light the candles from left to right
