Labor Day celebrates the social and economic achievements of American workers on the first Monday of September, and was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century!
LABOR DAY TRADITIONS
Have a Picnic
Celebrate this holiday by hosting a picnic or BBQ. Be sure to serve up some Hot Dogs; seven billion of them are eaten yearly between Memorial Day and Labor Day!
Create Fireworks
Light fireworks or create our fire-safe Firework Craft using household items you’re sure to have!
Host a Parade
Celebrate your and your friends’ achievements by hosting your very own Labor Day Parade and party at home!
DID YOU KNOW?
Labor Day was first inspired by a parade! The New York parade was the first city to host a ‘Labor Day Parade’. Other regions started having parades, and by 1887, Oregon, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Colorado made Labor Day a state holiday.
